Videos of interest

Below are a selection of videos from my YouTube channel of myself and others. I have commented on each video to highlight particular features that I consider to be interesting or important.

I hope, in time, to continue to add useful and interesting videos to this list both of myself and of fellow practitioners of trance who have given their permission for me to showcase their work.

My YouTube channel is increasingly popular and can be found here:

IEMT for Anxiety

This video playlist comprises 6 videos of a session with a client for anxiety by my friend and colleage Allan Whitton from www.WestEssexHypnotherapy.com

In it you will see a number of techniques including Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT), NLP and even some Provocative Therapy.

I have included the series because IEMT is such an incredible tool for getting to the bottom and then fixing emotional issues and behavioural problems.

As a licenced practitioner of IEMT myself, I have to take my hat off to Alan and his client for videoing and releasing these videos.

Waking Hypnosis

Did you know that you don't have to be hypnotised to be hypnotised?

Some call is permanosis, others call it waking hypnosis - whatever you call it, your super powerful subsconscious mind is capable of experiencing and enjoying demonstrating just how powerful it is by showing your conscious mind a thing or two without the need for a formal hypnotic induction.

Incidentally, this video was from a hypnotist and magician meet up on August bank holiday 2009 in London. One lucky person got a free give up smoking session from me right there in the middle of the park! I heard back since then that she is still a non-smoker (of course!).

Use a single technique to induce, fractionate and deepen hypnosis

I am very interested in ideodynamic signaling at the moment as I have been reading Cheek and Rossi's Mind Body Therapy: Using ideodynamic siganlling in hypnosis. Recently I used a pendulum technique to interrogate and work with a hypnotic's phobia of flying. I have not had any feedback as yet, but the session went very well with plenty of feeback from the unconscious mind.

I chose this video because it demonstrates my (current) favorite routine which, as you will see, uses the hypnotic's hand as a signal and gauge between their conscious and unconscious mind.

The importance of having a plan or routine when practicing trance

This is a fantastic video featuring my friend Darren Altman where he has clearly formulated a plan before diving in with his hypnotic. In my experience having a clear and precise plan of what you are going to do will make or break the session - How many time have I watched a new hypnotist hypnotise someone without a clear plan of what they were going to achieve with them, and are left flapping about desperately trying to think of something to do! Darren clearly has the right idea and it is something that I use with all my clients be it for therapy or fun.

In NLP terms, setting realistic, achieveable and measurable goals is paramount to effecting lasting change.

Do hypnosis and make friends

One of the things I love about the internet is the ability to find friends and like minded people no matter where they are located geographically. Fortunately, living near London, UK there are a good number of hypnotists and hypnotics will to meet up!

On the last Thursday of every month some of us (whoever is available) meet in a pub somewhere in central London for an evening of hypnosis, therapy, impromptu and street hypnosis or to just come along watch, be hypnotised or even just to have a drink or three. I love these meets and here's a great video from one such get-together.
